Portugal's Honorary Consulate in Kingston

An Honorary Consul, whether Portuguese or not and not a diplomat, residing in the country and area where his Consulate operates, is appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to advocate and protect the rights and interests of the Portuguese State and its nationals in a city where there is no official representation. Honorary Consulates typically do not perform consular acts. However, under certain exceptional and justified circumstances, they might be authorized to carry out voter registration operations, civil registration and notary acts, and issue travel documents. Honorary consuls work according to the Head of the Mission to whom they are attached, within the scope of their competence.

This consular representation does not enlist VFS services, hence manages all visa applications independently.
