Greetings from the South Africa Embassy! We're dedicated to fostering diplomatic, cultural, and economic ties between South Africa and the global community. We provide consular assistance, travel guidance, and arrange cultural gatherings to enhance diversity and camaraderie among nations.

What type of Consular Representation is the General Consulate of Portugal in Johannesburg?

General Consulate - Analogous to a Consular Section, it also acts as a service hub for all consular issues, operating under the oversight of a Consul. These entities are typically larger in size and are physically separate from the Embassies, yet they are still under the Ambassador's supervision of the respective country. They are commonly located in prominent cities with significant Portuguese Diasporas, which are not necessarily the capital city. Visa services are also offered either via VFS or E-Visa, contingent on the country.
