Honorary Consulate of Portugal in Cali

An Honorary Consul can be Portuguese or not, and is not a diplomat but resides in the country and location of their Consulate operation. Appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to protect and promote the rights and interests of the Portuguese State and its citizens, in a city without official representation. Honorary Consulates usually lack competency to perform consular acts, although, in exceptional and justified cases, they may be authorized to execute voter registration operations, notary acts and civil registration, and to issue travel documents. Honorary consuls operate within their competence scope, in line with the Head of the Mission they are attached to.

This consular representation doesn't employ VFS services and manages all visa applications independently.
