Honorary Portuguese Consulate in Guadalajara

Honorary Consulate - An Honorary Consul, who may or may not be Portuguese or a diplomat, lives in the country and area where their Consulate is situated. They are appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to represent and uphold the rights and interests of the Portuguese State and its citizens in a city that lacks official representation. Honorary Consulates aren't typically competent to perform consular tasks, however, in certain exceptional and justified situations, they may be allowed to carry out voter registration, civil registration, notary deeds, and issue travel documents. The duties of honorary consuls are performed within the limits of their authority, as per the Head of the Mission they are attached to.
