Portugal's Honorary Consulate in Kathmandu

Honorary Consulate - An Honorary Consul can be a Portuguese or a foreign national, residing in the country and city where the Consulate is functional. They are appointed by the Foreign Affairs Ministry to represent and promote the Portuguese State's rights and interests in cities without official representation. Although generally not competent to conduct consular acts, in some exceptional and justified scenarios, they may be authorised to register voters, conduct civil registrations and notary acts and issue travel documents. The Honorary Consuls carry out their duties, within their competence purview, in accordance with the Mission Head to whom they report.
