Portugal's Honorary Consulate in Osaka

Honorary Consulate - An Honorary Consul, who may not be a Portuguese or a diplomat, resides in the country and area where his Consulate is operational, having been assigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote and protect the rights and interests of Portugal and its people in a city where there's no official representation. While Honorary Consulates are not typically authorised to perform consular acts, under certain exceptional circumstances, with valid justification, they may be authorised to execute voter registration, civil registration, notary acts, and issue travel documents. Their work is conducted within their area of competence, in line with the Head of the Mission they're attached to.
